Tra Esquilino e Quirinale, il Viminale (dalle piante di vimini che originariamente crescevano sulle sua pendici), è il più piccolo dei sette colli sui quali fu fondata la città di Roma. Fra i suoi edifici più importanti, il Palazzo del Viminale (1923), sede del Ministero dell’Interno e il Teatro dell’Opera di Roma (1879).

Between Esquilino and Quirinale, the Viminale (from the wicker plants that originally grew on its slopes), is the smallest of the seven hills on which the city of Rome was founded. Among its most important buildings, the Palazzo del Viminale (1923), home of the Ministry of the Interior and the Rome Opera House (1879).
